The Hamer SCARAB I was made between 1984 and 1989. It had a unique body derived from the Explorer style Hamer Standard but with a cutout bottom bout. The Scarab I was the single humbucking pickup version - a two pickup version (the Scarab II) was also available as well as a Scarab bass.
