The Hamer Vector Maple Top was made from around 1979 to 1989.  Before 1981 Vectors were made as a special order but were released as a limited edition model by Hamer in 1981. The curly maple topped version of the Flying V style Vector cost around $100 more than the all mahogany Hamer Vector. The Vector had the Hamer milled brass bridge/sustain block combination for increased sustain with strings anchored through the body.

Pickups were two high output DiMarzio humbuckers selected or combined using a 3-way toggle switch positioned close to the bridge.
