The Heritage American Eagle was introduced in 1986. I think these were discontinued in the 1990s although they remained on the Heritage website until 2009 so maybe they were still available until then. The American Eagle is a hollow bodied archtop with some special patriotic American features like a Liberty Bell shaped tailpiece, American heritage themed fingerboard inlays and red, white and blue binding. There is even a space shuttle inlay in the wooden pick guard and an American Flag inlay in the head stock. Could this be the most American guitar ever?
The neck has a 17 degree peghead pitch; five-piece curly maple neck; red, white and blue multiple bound head veneer; back veneer with mother of pearl Liberty Bell and Registration number. The 20 fret fingerboard is also multi-bound red white and blue and has a 25.5 inch scale length ebony fingerboard with abalone & mother of pearl inlays depicting American Heritage.
The single cutaway premium body has a solid carved top & back; tuned spruce top, tuned curly or bubble maple back and solid curly or bubble maple rims. The body is also multiple bound red, white and blue and has multi-bound f-holes. The body has a rim thickness of 3 inches, width 17 inches and length 20.25 inches.
Electronics are a single Heritage Jazz pickup with one volume control mounted into a curly or bubble maple pick guard with mother of pearl inlays.
Hardware is gold plated hardware with Liberty Bell shaped gold plated tailpiece. The mother of pearl truss rod cover is engraved with the owner's name.
