It was a solid alder bodied electric guitar with the same body shape as the Hohner JT60 but the JT60 had Strat style pickups and controls whereas the Reno had Telecaster style layout. The Reno had a humbucker in the bridge position and a chrome covered single coil at the neck, controlled by single volume and tone controls and a Les Paul style three-way selector switch. The satin finished maple neck was attached with a bolt on easy access joint and had 22 frets.
