The first IBANEZ AW10 was introduced in 1983. The AW10 was a dreadnought style acoustic with a solid spruce top. The back and sides were mahogany. The sides and backs were selected in bookmatched pairs.
The top had shell and white binding. The neck was mahogany with a rosewood fingerboard with ivory dot markers. The bridge was rosewood with a True-Tune saddle. Machine heads were chrome "smooth tuner" type. The AW10 came in natural finish only.
A later series AW10 was made between 2000 and 2003
