2017$300excellentThis guitar has laminate top, back, and sides, so it travels well. It does like to be played with more force to bring out it's best, but when you do it can cut through any mix of instruments. Solid body guitars shine when the music gets soft, but this Ragtime 300 shines when the beat starts moving your feet. The "X" scalloped frame and slightly arched back project a big sound. It looks good too, the rich natural golden finish on the cedar top, the natural mahogany back and sides, are both joined with tortise shell binding. Lastly, mine is easy to play. Strings are set close to the frets, but do not buzz. Oh, this is not a cutaway, but the neck at the box is cut so as to make these lower frets very accessible. Great instrument for the money!

I had played an R300L (lefty) for 20-25 years. Made in Korea. Fantastic quality for a lower priced guitar (replacing it today would cost double). Great value and playability, durability. A different shaped box than the standard dreadnought,it could be almost as loud as a jumbo. Cedar top gave it a warm or bluesy sound. Well made,I had worn the frets out and replacing the frets at that time cost more than a replacement guitar, and I had replaced it with another Ibanez. It's been in the closet for all this time and it's time to revisit it.
