IBANEZ began making the SR1010 in 1999

The IBANEZ SR1015 was the 5-string version of the SR1010 and was manufactured during the 1990s and discontinued around 1999. Ibanez upgraded the specifications of the SR1015 in 1998 - changing the pickups from ADX to SFR-MN and SFR-MB units, the bridge was changed to an Accu-Cast B-25. They also included the new Vari-Mid High-Fi EQ from 1998.

IBANEZ manufactured the SR1200 between 1994 and 1998. It was reintroduced as part of the Ibanez Premier series in 2011. The new SR-1200 Premier has Nordstrand pickups (instead of Ibanez AFRs like the original SR1200) and a Mono-Rail IV bridge.

IBANEZ introduced the SR1205 in 1994. It was discontinued for a while in 1998 but has since been reintroduced as the SR1205 Prestige model. The SR1205 is the five string version of the SR1200. The original SR1205s had 2 Ibanez ADX humbuckers, the new model has 2 Nordstrand “Big Single” soapbar pickups. The body tops on the newer model is ovangkol instead of maple. I believe the new model SR1205 Prestige was intially made in Indonesia, but may now be made in Japan.

The Ibanez SR1300 4 string bass was introduced around 1987 and had a double cutaway padauk body. The bubinga-wenge neck was bolt-on. The fingerboard was also wenge fingerboard with 24 frets and pearl dot inlays. The hardware was cosmo black coloured: a fixed bridge, 2 a side tuners. Pickups were Precision/Jazz-style Ibanez pickups contolled by a volume, treble and 2 mid/bass/mix controls. It came in in Oil finish.

The Soungear (SR) series was introduced in 1987. The SR1305 5 string bass had a double cutaway padauk body. The bubinga-wenge neck was bolt-on. The fingerboard was also wenge fingerboard with 24 frets and pearl dot inlays. The hardware was cosmo black coloured: a fixed bridge, 3/2-per-side tuners. Pickups were 2 active Ibanez humbuckers. It came in in Oil finish only.

The Ibanez SR300 has an offset double cutaway agathis body. Available left handed as the SR300L. Earlier versions of the SR300 had chrome finished hardware and Ibanez DX pickups (precision and jazz bass style), later models have cosmo-black finished hardware and two Ibanez CAP EXF-N2 humbuckers. The SR300 was also available fretless.

Production of the SR305 began in 1997. It is the 5 string version of the Ibanez SR300.  Originally they had agathis bodies with maple necks, but as of 2014 the transparent finish SR505 has a mahogany body with jatoba/bubinga neck. The first models had Ibanez DX soapbar pickups but these were changed to split-coil Bartolini MK-1 pickups. Tone controls were also changed from a single tone control and two volume controls, to two tone controls & two volume controls and then to a single volume control an EQB-IIIS 3-band equaliser with a Mid frequency switch.

The Ibanez SR400 bass was introduced in 1993. The SR400 has a maple double cutaway body with a bolt-on maple neck. Other features included an  Accu-Cast B20 bridge (19mm pitch), IBZ DX-P neck pickup, IBZ DX-J bridge pickup and EQB-IIIB 3 band equalizer.

The SR400 was also available left-handed as the SR400L and as a fretless model the SR400FL, but both these options were discontinued in 1997. The SR400 was replaced around 2006 by the Ibanez SR400QM bass.

IBANEZ made the SR406 in Korea from 1997 until 2002,  these ran around $900 when new.  This is the six-string variant of the SR400 bass, featuring:

IBANEZ made the SR480 from 1999 to 2003.

The Ibanez SR485 was discontinued in 2003. This model was the 5-string version of the SR480.

As part of the SoundGear series the Ibanez SR500 is still a popular bass over 20 years after its introduction in 1993. The bolt-on Jatoba and Bubinga neck is thin and has an extended joint into the body which is visible from the top of the guitar and gives good access to the upper frets. The pickups on the current model are hum cancelling Bartolini MK1 split coils.

The 1993-1996 Ibanez SR500 had different specifications to the current model. The body and neck were maple and the pickups were Precision & Jazz bass style active Ibanez units.

The SR5000 SR PRESTIGE originally had Precision & Jazz Bass style Ibanez AFR pickups. These were changed to Ibanez SFR soapbar style pickups in 1998. By 2009 the SR5000 Prestige models had  5 piece wenge/bubinga necks, mahogany bodies with wenge tops and backs, Mono-Rail IV bridges, and Bartolini Custom pickups.

Manufacture of the SR5005 PRESTIGE ended in 1999.

The Ibanez SR505 is the five string version of the SR500. Several specifications have changed over the years - the original EMG pickups were replaced by Bartolinis

IBANEZ introduced the SR506 in 1994. It is the 6-string version of the popular Ibanez SR500 model.

The SR590 was made between 1994 and 1996

IBANEZ began making the SR800 around 1988 as part of their Soundgear bass series. The double cutaway body was initially made from basswood and the SR800 had a bolt-on maple neck with all access neck joint and tilt-back headstock. The pickups on the 1988 SR800LE were Ibanez LO-P and LO-J precision and jazz style units controlled by volume, balancer, EQ-treble and EQ-bass controls. The bridge was an Omni Adjust unit , this model also had the AccuCast B20 (formerly B IV) bridge. The SR800 had 24 frets but a fretless version (the SR800F) was available in 1992 only.

Production of the Ibanez SR885 began in 1987 and ended in 2003. It was the 5-string version of the SR800. This bass had two jazz bass style active pickups: Ibanez LO-J5  or Ibanez ADX. The bridge was a  Gotoh 5-string bridge or AccuCast B25 bridge. These typically finished in black or metallic blue, but early models also had red, laser blue or royal blue finish options.

The Ibanez Soungear SR895 was the five string version of the SR890. It had an ash body with a bolt on maple neck. Pickups were active precision / jazz bass style Ibanez units controlled by one volume, one treble, two mid, a bass and a mixer controls. Hardware was gold colored. The SR895 came in natural, transparent cherry or tranparent  turquoise finishes.

The first SR905 was produced by IBANEZ in 2005
