IBANEZ made the EX1700 between 1992 and 1993. It was a bound-bodied no-pickguard version of the EX1500. Finishes were cherry sunburst or transparent turquoise - so you could see some of the figure of the light American maple body. The EX1700 has a 22-fret maple fingerboard with dot position markers. The pickups were  Ibanez Powersound humbuckers in the bridge and neck positions with a single coil in the middle. The bridge was a synchronized tremolo. Also available was a EX1700F version with a chambered body and F-hole. The EX170 was a more affordable version model without the body binding and with chrome hardware.

From what I was told and read, the EX1700 I have was never a guitar put into production, the EX stands for experimental from what I was told so I assume my EX 1700 is a guitar that is far and few, I have never seen another one in person and I have only been able to find one picture of it and that was only after I had my guitar Guru do the research and finally found one picture and what little info I have on this guitar

I think I have one. I bought a guitar yeasterday at a pawn shop. Sat ex1700 on back of headstock. It is black with ivory trim and gold hardware and one factory F hole. I can not find info on this guitar anywhere.

The EX1700F is an EX series solid body electric guitar introduced by Ibanez in 1993. It was a spot model which was made in Korea. "Spot model" is a term used by Ibanez to describe an instrument model which is produced in quantities too small to be included in a catalog.[ If a spot model does well in the market it may sometimes show up in a future catalog. The term is also sometimes used to describe models which Ibanez produces for exclusive sale by a particular retailer. These models are also typically excluded from Ibanez catalogs This EX1700F a chambered light American maple body with cream binding and an f-hole cutout above the bridge bolted to a maple neck with a traditional neck joint with a metal plate. It has a 22-fret maple fingerboard with dot position markers. The pickups are Ibanez Powersound humbuckers in the bridge and neck positions flanking a single coil. Other components include a synchronized tremolo bridge. The EX1700 was a version of this guitar that had a solid body. This EX1700F was produced only in 1993.
