The IBANEZ SA160 is a mahogany bodied superstrat introduced in 2000. It was made in Korea until 2005, then production stopped until 2008 when a Chinese made version was introduced. Early versions had the TZ30 vibrato bridge but this was soon changed to the SAT30 vibrato and then the SAT Pro II in 2008. Early versions had two Ibanez Powersound single coils and a Powersound-2 humbucker. On later models the pickups are two Ibanez AS2 Single coils and an AH4 humbucker.
Similar models were also available with an Ash body (SA160AH), with a flamed maple top (SA160FM) or with a quilted maple top (SA160QM).
