The Ibanez X-ING IMG2010 was a guitar synth controller designed to work with Roland guitar synths of the 1980s. The Ibanez IMG2010 was made in the same Fujigen factory as the Roland branded guitar synth controllers - but the IMG2010 was the most technologically advanced controller of the era taking full advantage of the capabilities of the Roland guitar synths. For example the IMG2010 implements a virtual vibrato bar (a feature not seen on Roland branded controllers), it has superior internal trim pots and better designed electronics in general (for more accurate velocity tracking), also it allows continuous use of all four controllers (Roland branded guitars used controllers 1,2 and 4), the IMG2010 has a hex pickup integrated into the bridge for more accurate note tracking, finally the IMG2010 uses Steinberg style micro tuners in the bridge.
Made from 1985 to 1986, probably more than 2000 were made.
