JAY TURSER JT-270 reviewed by Jean Guion

Bought one of these as a demo model from a NAMM show out in california back in 2003 or so for about $170.00...
Have never been sorry about this purchase...
Guitar is very solid , dense I would even say..
It has a very nicely ,sculpted in, set neck...no heel joint to speak of....
It sits well...it hangs very comfortably..and my hands land on it where I would expect them to..
The hardware including the electronics weren't very good...but it played great...
I done some fret leveling on it and got the action down into the custom made $2000.00 guitar range , then replaced everthing on it....I would kill for it...
It's a quality peice of wood with a quality build....buy it...put another $150.00 or so in it and know you have a nice rare instrument....

The jt 270 from Jay Turser guitars is a very rare model...produced sometime around 2005-7...maple neck with hard thick rosewood fretboard..set into a maple topped mahogony body , with a neck thru type sculpted neck joint...
A one peice wrap around bridge , two les paul style humbuckers , and 1 vol. / one tone / 1 3-way pick-up selector..and a super strat kind of one off custom body a little reminescent of a paul reed smith...it also has a sculpted top...
When I first got it I gave it a standard set-up with impressive results..pick-ups where decent...however............
After having it a while I modded it up a little with a Tone pros locking tune-a-matic type bridge, a new hot humbucker for the bridge pos. and did a complete fret level/polish, then topped it off with a gibson lp style adjustable brass nut...

The neck was so perfectly set..my action was at a 32nd of an inch all the way down the board...highly playable and very impressed with construction..
These were not expensive guitars at around $279.00 and well worth it...if you can find one I highly advise joining the rare of rare club and obtaining it....
I will never part with mine...
