The 00-1 (1 SERIES) was made between 1996 and 2000. The 00-1 is the Grand Concert version of the D-1. The 00-1 utilizes a solid mahogany back and 3-ply laminated mahogany sides. The 00 body size is approximately 1/2" smaller around its perimeter than the 000 size. This 00 size is the smallest size offered in the Martin line of stock instruments. All other specifications are similar to the D-1.

I recently bought a used Martin 00-1 in the UK for £600. It's a lovely guitar and I'm very happy with it. It has a solid spruce top, solid mahogany back and laminate mahogany sides. One piece neck, rosewood fretboard, rosewood bridge and tortoishell binding on the body. The nut width is 1 11/16 and it has a low modified ovel neck so it feels very comfortable for me to play. I have put Elixir extra light strings on and it sounds lovely, but I'll probably go with custom light strings next time.
