The 00-1 (1 SERIES) was made between 1996 and 2000. The 00-1 is the Grand Concert version of the D-1. The 00-1 utilizes a solid mahogany back and 3-ply laminated mahogany sides. The 00 body size is approximately 1/2" smaller around its perimeter than the 000 size. This 00 size is the smallest size offered in the Martin line of stock instruments. All other specifications are similar to the D-1.

The Martin 00-18V acoustic was introduced in 2003 as part of the vintage series. It has a 14-frets to the body “00” Grand Concert body size and vintage Martin features - like the old style 18 soundhole rosette and inlays, vintage belly bridge, large headstock and aging toner finish. The 00-18V has a relatively wide neck - 1.75" inches at the nut - making it ideal for fingerpicking.

MARTIN produced the 00-1R between 1996 and 1998. The 00-1R is the Grand Concert version of the D-1R. The 00-1R utilizes 3-ply laminated East Indian rosewood back and sides. The 00 body size is approximately 1/2" smaller around its perimeter than the 000 size. All other specifications are similar to the D-1R.

MARTIN manufactured the 00-21 between 1898 and 1995. It is a spruce topped rosewood bodied grand concert style acoustic. Over almost 100 years of production the 00-21 model has naturally seen some changes. Some of the ones made in the 1930s have a belly bridge with a larger areas designed to help withstand the tension of steel strings. The post 1947 00-12s had a rosewood fingerboard - instead of the earlier ebony. In 1990 the open headstock was changed to a solid headstock.

The 00-12 is still available from Martin as a custom shop model.

MARTIN manufactured the 00-42 between 1898 and 1942

MARTIN manufactured the 00-45 between 1904 and 1938. Up until around 1920 production numbers were very low with less than ten 00-45s made per year. The style 45 guitars were the pinnacle of the Martin range with pearl inlays on all top edges and rosette as well as ivory binding and bridge. The specifications changed over the following years: for example in 1918 ivory binding was replaced by celluloid and the bridge was made from ebony. The great sound and intricate inlay workmanship make these style 45 guitars very collectible.
