MARTIN produced the D-28S between 1964 and 1993. It was a slope shouldered dreadnought with a slotted headstock, 12 frets to the body and wide neck (1.875 inches wide at the nut). According to Martin's 1968 catalog the D-28S was reproduced from patterns drawn in 1917. The "S" in the model name indicates it has the standard 12-frets to the body configuration - which was the norm on the first (pre-1934) Martin dreadnoughts.
