NATIONAL made the STYLE 1 between 1928 and 1941. The National Style 1 was a tricone model made of German silver (nickel silver) and heavily nickel plated. The bridge, a three-armed truss was supported by three cone amplifiers resting on a sub-frame in the center of the body. The Styles 1,2,3 and 4 differed in the amount of engraving on the body an inlay on the fingerboards. The Style 1 was the plainest with a plain nickel finish and no engraving.
