Bruno Merks restored this Carmelo Catania Model 22 hand built acoustic jazz guitar. The instrument dates from 1957. Merks used some original parts supplied by Carmelo's son Giovanno Catania as well as some copied from examples and pictures sent by Giovanno.
The restored guitar has a easy and a warm deep sound with good sustain, dry and bright trebles. Both Chords and single notes sound good: this guitar would suit a Django Gypsy stlye player.
Specifications are:

Top: solid spruce and bound
Back and sides: solid mahogany
Fretboard: Bound, with 19 frets rosewood with large circular inlays. 45 mm wide at nut and 60 mm wide at bridge.
Bridge: adjustable rosewood with metal tailpiece
Tuners: original nickel plated
Action at the 12th fret: 3.5 mm.
