Ormsby Guitars Standard Series

The unique designs and ideas you see in the CustomShop models have inspired many guitarists to want one of their own. Custom made instruments are the heart and soul of what Ormsby Guitars do. But, to order a custom made instrument, you have to have a good idea what you want, a dream, and be very very patient while it is built. Some people just can't do that, or simply don't need the fancy inlays, the stress of choosing woods and pickups, etc etc. Some just want a great guitar, right here, right now.

Enter the Standard Series.

The Standard Series was originally released in 2006, and before long, they were all being built as CustomShop orders. Production ended, because the Standards were often just as custom as a CustomShop guitar! The mistake was made of offering way too many options, because they could, but that just led to too much confusion. People wanted something easy, simple, and ready to rock. Fast forward to 2009, and the idea has been revisited. A strict list of ideas and parts were drawn up, and they got to work on a handful of prototypes...

For those of you looking for a vintage vibe, there is the DC. The rockers and heavy crowd have the SX, and SX Multiscales are for those who want the future of guitar playing, right here, right now.

DC

The DC Standard Series is based on one of Ormsby Guitar's more popular shapes. It has the vintage vibe, and uses Australian woods (Tasmanian Blackwood) for the neck and body, with a glued in (set neck) neck joint. Pickups are the popular Hot Rock (bridge) and Old School + (neck) pickups, but you can choose any of the Handwound Humbucker pickups they make at no extra cost. The Artist Package includes an Ebony fretboard with Abalone inlays, and a nice Flame Maple top, stained or sunburst in your choice of colour.
