Bought this guitar new in 1985. With a small truss rod adjustment it still plays and sound great. It has become a great friend. I play with medium gauge Elixer strings. I can't speak Ovation support as I haven't needed it. A big part of its longevity has to be due the Ovation hard shell case, or vault as Ovation called it. Somehow the super shallow shell still provides a rich tone either acoustically or plugged in. The action is fast and the truss rod wasn't necessary till about a year ago; that's nearly 30 years after purchase. to me my balladeer is virtually priceless. BTW, I play mostly 60-70 folk rock style.
