PEAVEY produced the VANDENBURG CUSTOM between 1988 and 1989. It was a more expensive version of the Signature model. Differences from the basic Signature model were: "Custom Vandenberg pearl inlays", a thinner neck profile, wider frets and the fret board was available in both ebony and flame maple. The Vandenberg Custom has a one piece mahogany body which is slightly thinner than the Signature, and the top is more arched.  The 2 piece laminated maple neck has a elongated set neck join extending through the body.

PEAVEY produced the VANDENBERG PUZZLE between 1989 and 1992. It was identical to the Vandenberg Custom except for its black & white jigsaw puzzle graphics, domino position markers and a mini coil tap switch instead of the push-pull pot. This was the most expensive Peavey Vandenberg model and the rarest. They usually had black finish with white puzzle outlines but there are also some with white finish and black puzzle pattern.

PEAVEY produced the VANDENBERG QUILT TOP between 1989 and 1994. It was like the Vandenberg Custom model except with gold hardware, 2 humbuckers and a quilted maple top. The headstock has a more rounded edge than the other Vandenberg models. The Vandenberg Quilt top was available in three finishes: Transparent honey sunburst, transparent purple and transparent pink. The side edge of the maple top was not colored; giving a natural wood binding effect like on a PRS.

PEAVEY produced the VANDENBERG SIGNATURE between 1988 and 1994. There were two editions of this model. The Vandenberg Signature first edition had a medium weight poplar body with a slightly arched top and "fiddle cuts". The body is back routed, so no need for a pickguard.  The first edition of the Vandenberg model was came in 3 finishes: "gloss black", "sunfire red" and "rock-it pink". The bolt on neck was two piece laminated maple in a natural matte finish with an bony fingerboard . It was possible to adjust the neck tilt with an Allen key.
