Alembic has always been a company with a no endorsement policy. Famous players have always had to pay for their own instruments. Alembic has made exceptions to this rule for Stanley Clarke and Mark King. Stanley Clarke was given a specially inlaid instrument to celebrate their 30 years long collaboration. Mark King, in 1986, received two 34"-scale Series 2 basses and then ordered two more in identical woods with 32" scale. It is no surprise then that the Alembic Signature Series consists of Mark King and Stanley Clarke models only.
