GIBSON CORVUS SERIES

The Corvus was a short-lived series of guitars made by the Gibson between 1982 and 1984. At a time when hair metallers were beginning to turn towards super-strat style guitars, the Corvus was meant to renew interest in the Gibson brand. It featured a solid body with an offset V-cut at the tail, hence its "can opener" nickname.

The Corvus models were not popular and were soon discontinued.

GIBSON Les Paul: Classic Series

The Gibson Les Paul Classic series began in 1990 with the Les Paul Classic, a reissue based on the 1960 Les Paul. The key feature of the Les Paul Classic was it's slim neck profile. The Les Paul Classic also had some other features true to the 1960 original: a narrow headstock, thin cutaway binding, aged yellowish fingerboard inlays, inked-on serial number, nickel hardware, vintage-style logo and aged binding on body and neck.

GIBSON Les Paul: Low-Impedance Series

The introduction, in 1969, of the Les Paul Personal and Les Paul Professional Guitars saw the start of the low impedance series. All models in this series featured Gibson's low impedance pickups - favoured by Les Paul himself who also had direct influence on the designs of these models. The Personal and Professional were soon replaced by the Les Paul Recording model in 1973 which remained in production until 1980. A semi-hollow body low impedance guitar - the Les Paul Signature - was also made between 1974 and 1980.
