The Rickenbacker 340 is like the 330 model but has an additional hi-gain single coil pickup. It has a 300 series shaped offset double cutaway maple body with three single coil "Hi-Gain" pickups, accented by a wedge shaped sound hole. The 24 fret, 10" radius rosewood fingerboard has dot inlay fret markers. It has a single mono output through a jack plate. The 340 was also available as a twelve string (Model 340/12). The 340 was introduced in 1958 and Rickenbacker stopped taking new orders for them in December 2007 - although some would have been made in 2008 to fulfill existing orders.
