The Schecter Model-T bass was desgined in collaboration with the Stone Temple Pilots bassist Rob DeLeo and introduced in 1995. The Schecter Model-T is based on the Fender 1968 Telecaster bass which in turn was based on the Fender Precision bass of the 1950s.

The Schecter MODEL-T features a 34" scale bolt-on neck with Northern Ash body. Standard neck specs include a rock maple neck with a choice of maple or rosewood fingerboard, 21 jumbo frets, 12" radius and Schecter's 4-in-line headstock. Electronics include Schecter 'Monstertone' P/J pickups. (EMG Active pickups are also available). Hardware includes chrome Schecter vintage tuners, 3-Ply pickguard and a Vintage bass bridge with string-thru-body design. Model-T basses were available in custom solid and See-Thru finishes. This version of the Schecter Model T was available as a custom order with 5 strings an option - although there are also Korean made Schecter Model-Ts available.

According to Bass Player Magazine:
