The Schecter Tempest Custom is a fancier version of the Schecter Tempest. It has a maple top and split crown inlays in an ebony fingerboard. Initial finish options were white or black cherry with chrome hardware or black with gold hardware. The black Tempest Custom was also available left handed.
In 2014 finish options were vintage sunburst or black. Some of the hardware on this guitar has also changed over the years - they now have Schecter tuners instead of Grovers and Seymour Duncan Custom SH-11 and Seymour Duncan '59 SH-1N pickups instead of Duncan Designed HB-102s.
