Introduced in 1996, the Tom Anderson Hollow Drop Top is outwardly identical to the solid Drop Top but it has hollow internal tone chambers. Hollowing out the guitar makes it much lighter - and therefore more comfortable to play on a strap. Hollowing also affects tone slightly - in a way that some players prefer to the solid version - the Hollow Drop Top has a slightly softer sounding pick attack and softer mid frequencies.
Like all Anderson models there are many options for Hollow Drop Top body and neck woods, finishes and pickup configurations.
