The Heritage American Eagle was introduced in 1986. I think these were discontinued in the 1990s although they remained on the Heritage website until 2009 so maybe they were still available until then. The American Eagle is a hollow bodied archtop with some special patriotic American features like a Liberty Bell shaped tailpiece, American heritage themed fingerboard inlays and red, white and blue binding. There is even a space shuttle inlay in the wooden pick guard and an American Flag inlay in the head stock. Could this be the most American guitar ever?

Bound f-holes. 5 piece curly maple neck. Multiple-bound, 25"-scale ebony fingerboard with abalone block inlays. Multiple-bound peghead veneer with abalone and mother of pearl rose inlay. One Heritage jazz pickup mounted to bound curly maple pickguard. Black hardware. Personally signed by Johnny Smith on the label. Body width 17" Body thickness 3". Finish: Antique Sunburst.
