Manufacture of the Washburn D1212 CE mas made from around 1988 until 1994. It was the electro-acoustic, single cutaway version of the D1212 12 string acoustic model. Finish was natural or tobacco sunburst. It had a laminated spruce top with mahogany back and sides and 25.6 inch scale length. Electonics were Washburn Equus II.
