I have owned my D61 Prairie Song since 1996 to replace my Martin D28 which was destroyed. It has been a faithful companion in clubs, while busking, while performing with others, in recording and just by myself. It recently needed maintenance and the luthier wanted to buy it. I did note that Vince Gill plays one, but he is a Bluegrass picker like Tony Rice. It has not been modified in any way except for adding a Steinberg "in hole" pickup. (I used to have a Seymour Duncan Lipstick "in hole" which worked great. I think I'll keep this for the rest of my life. If you can find one without the built in electronics or piezos then you play it and then you will know what I mean. I paid a fair price for a very fine instrument and its lifetime warranty (same as Martin's). My advice after 65 years playing is to buy the right tool for the right job and don't be dazzled by guitars costing thousands more just to impress your friends. And if you buy well you simply won't have to buy again unless you are a collector. And if it is an old Prairie Song you'll have a friend for life. PS: I recently bought a Tonewood "through giutar" Amp and I am quite pleased with its operation and performance, and people asking me where my regular amp is. Thanks for the read.
