The Yamaha SX Series was launched in 1975 (possibly earlier?) with the SX60, SX80 and SX125 models - all had SS pickup configuration. These were soon replaced in 1976 by the SSS config SX800B & SX900B models as well as two HH models the SX800A & SX900A. These were made up to 1979 and were sold exclusively in Japan. An NSX “Exart” 2000 limited edition reissue of the SX900B was made in 2002 only. These SX guitars have had a gently arched top, symmetrical double cut SG style shape but with very short horns and a ‘batwing’ style headstock.
