Yamaha made the Weddington Classic from 1990 until 1995.

The Yamaha Weddington Custom was introduced in the early 1990s and made until around 1995. It was Yamaha's update on the classic Les Paul design altered to meet the demands of the contemporary guitarist. Although this guitar was somewhat overlooked at the time  the Weddington Custom combines beautiful styling and solid workmanship with tremendous playability and tonal versatility in a rock-solid instrument.

THe Yamaha Weddington Special was the entry level Weddington model. It had a solid mahogany flat topped body and dot inlays  - unlike the carved maple tops and block inlays on the Weddingon Classic and Custom. The Special also had a wrap-around bar bridge - lacking the stop tail-piece / tune-o-matic seen on the Classic and Custom models. Pickups were two direct mounted DiMarzio DHB4 humbuckers - each with its own tone and volume control. The five way pickup selector allowed coil tapping of both pickups.
