Kevin Gaskell made his first left hand guitar in 1992, but it was not until 2006 that Gaskell Guitars officially went into business. Gaskell distributed factory-made guitars in designs that were unavailable as left handed versions (like the Firebird). In 2010 Gaskell collaborated with a custom guitar builder to open Gaskell Custom Shop, offering Australian made left handed guitars. The mass produced Gaskell line was discontinued in 2013, but Kevin carried on making custom left handed guitars and basses until he retired in 2017.
