Tom Launhardt (1963 - 2016) was a German luthier who trained with Dieter Hopf. He launched his own company in 1993 making classical, acoustic, archtop and electric guitars. His company was based in Wetzlar until 2010, in Ehringhausen (2010 - 2015) and finally in Leun. In 2006 Launhardt launched a more affordable range of Korean made guitars in colaboration with AER - branded "Tom Launhardt AER".
