Information:

Paul Fischer was born on the Isle of Man but grew up in Oxford. After leaving school in 1956 he began a five year apprenticeship with harpsichord maker Robert Goble. Fischer then completed his training with two years the Oxford College of Art and Technology - followed by military service in Germany. On his return Fischer went to work with David Rubio at Duns Tew, Oxfordshire making guitars and other early music instruments.  In the early 1970s Rubio's workforce grew to eight and Fischer remained there for a number of years as chief instrument maker and manager. Success with his own instruments during this period under the Rubio label and stamped P.F., led him to establish his own studio in 1975 going on to become perhaps the UK's most experienced and respected guitar maker.
