I've wanted a D-28 for many years but, money was always an issue. I found my 2002 model DM on consignment in St. Albans, WV and couldn't be more pleased with it's sound or it's action...for less than $1,000 including that plush green Martin case! It's a keeper.

For Maybelle I've owned this guitar since 2012, having blindly purchased it through an ebay seller in Clearwater, Florida. I was living in Dawson City, Yukon territory 5400 km away as the raven flies. It survived the trip well and upon arrival at -40C weather, it tuned right up and needed no setup. I have played hundreds of gigs on this guitar in all conditions; inside, outside, hot, cold, weddings, bars, festivals, recordings, workshops and campfires. This is the next best thing to a D18 orD28. I own 3 other good guitars , including a 2013 D18 and The DM is still my go to. She's been rained on, left out in the cold, locked in hot cars, dropped a few times and stepped on, a few other. A few repaired cracks and bruises and still plays really well.
