The Marty Friedman series of Ibanez electrics are similar to their SZ models, but with star fretboard and body inlays. According to Friedman himself:
I asked [Ibanez] for the strongest guitar possible, and they built a manly guitar that’s solid and never goes out of tune.
Friedman is an American guitarist best known for his near ten year spell with Megadeth. Later in his career he moved to Japan.
Ibanez Marty Friedman Signature MFM2The Korean made MFM2 has a mahogany body with quilted maple top. It has a three piece set mahogany with rosewood fingerboard. No image yet | IBANEZ MARTY FRIEDMAN SIGNATURE MODEL MFM1Now only available in Japan but some were made in in Korea, the MFM1 has a mahogany body with high figured maple top and transparent bright blue finish. The neck is three piece mahogany and set-in with star inlays in the bound fretboard and 22 jumbo frets. Neck and bridge pickups are both Seymour Duncan IBZ. Controls are 1 Volume and a 3 way pickup selector (middle position splits both hum's to singles coils). No tone knob. The hardware is chrome/nickel coloured including and Ibanez Gibraltar III bridge and Sperzel locking tuners. |
