The Ibanez RS1000 was a Roadstar Custom guitar made in Japan from 1983 to 1984. The Ibanez RS1000 has an arched birdseye maple top on an alder or basswood body. Similar in design to the Steve Lukather signature RS1010SL model. Ibanez described the RS1000 as follows in their 1983 catalog:
The RS1000 is the ultimate in simplistic, straightforward guitar design. Built for the guitarist who takes a no-nonsense approach to playin, the RS1000 reflects the highest degree of craftsmanship imaginable.
The RS1000 features a handsomely styled arched top body constructed of highly figure bird's-eye maple and basswood. A solid rock maple is finished with a rosewood fingerboard for excelled playability. Two Super 58 pickups provide an extra sweet, extra warm "vintage" sound perfect for searing solos or hot rhythm playing. New, improved Sure GripII control knobs, Smooth Tuner II machine heads, plus the Hard Rocker Pro tremolo system put the RS1000 in a class of its own.
The RS1000 is available in a brilliant Cherry Sunburst finish
