Yamaha introduced the Pacifica 1511MS as a signature model for jazz guitarist Mike Stern in 1996. This is a Japanese made single cutaway Pacifica with natural finished ash body and two Seymour Duncan single coil pickups.

The YAMAHA PAC 311 MS was made in Taiwan from 1999 to 2003. It had one Hot Rail pickup and one conventional humbucker. It had a Maple fingerboard, an Ash-veneer top, body binding, and a choice of Natural, Vintage Blonde or Orange Stain finish. It was perhaps modelled on the more expensive Mike Stern signature model the PAC 1511MS. The PAC311MS controls are slanted rather than on a telecaster style chrome plate like the PAC 1511MS. Within Yamaha's naming convention for Pacificas the "MS" stands for maple fingerboard single cutaway (not "Mike Stern").

The first PAC 302 S was produced by YAMAHA in 1999

The Yamaha Pacifica 402S was the single cutaway version of the popular Pacifica series. The body was alder but had what Yamaha called a high definition finish top which looks like figured maple - whether this is a veneer or photoflame I'm not sure.
