Chris Morimoto is an acoustic guitar builder who was born in Los Angeles, California. He studied luthiery at the Galloup School of Lutherie in Big Rapids, Michigan. After graduating he apprenticed with Bryan Galloup at Galloup Guitars for 1.5 years. In 2006 he returned to California to apprentice with Ervin Somogyi in Oakland. After finishing this apprenticeship he continues to work in the Somogyi workshop. As of 2023 he also began making guitars under his own name.
