Awesome. I don't think I'd part with it either. I do not yet play, but this will be the guitar I learn on and keep until I'm gone and hopefully pass to my children. I've heard nothing but great things about them, great materials and not too expensive, just my style, a hidden gem that's not overhyped. You do let me know if you ever want to get rid of it, though! Here's a video I did playing this guitar. I wrote the song and played it.' Search some Pawn Shops you may be able to find one of these. GOOD LUCK THANKS
Thank you for the nice comments. Man this guitar sounds better now than it did when I got it back the last week of Dec 2012. I have also verified it has what I believe to be Braz rosewood sides, the back is Indian. Also it is all solid wood...I would recommend these first year Sigma-Martins to anybody..The quality is amazing for the price..They will go up in value once the word gets out.
I have a 1970 DR-7 (listed here) SN 5053 that I recently purchsed. I'll never figure out why they did away with the zero fret, it makes the tones so much truer when playing an open chord. On my other guitars I use a capo on the 1st fret when I want to eleminate the sound of an open string and have a more ballanced tone on open chords.
I also have a DR-7S that I love (listed here), and a SDM-18. I'm waiting for confirmation of shipment on another DR-7S that I believe I bought (long story) that is a early version of the one I have. It has the origional headstock, but with the poor pictures I had before I bought it I'm not sure about the zero fret, or the SN. Figured for $79 I'd take a swing and could simply hit a single, or a home run.

I'm not looking to sell right now. Maybe down the road I will though. It's pretty rare as far as early SIGMA's go.
Beautiful dr-7
