The Epiphone Genesis series was introduced in 1979. This Jim Walker designed double shallow cutaway electric has a body style similar to a Yamaha SG or Danelectro U2. The Genesis also had coil tapping, a versatile feature which was beginning to be used by guitarists at that time. There were three models - the standard, deluxe and custom which varied in their levels of cosmetic ornamentation. There was also an Epiphone Genesis Bass. The Genesis guitars were made until 1981, but Epiphone reissued a limited number of Genesis Deluxe PRO guitars in 2013.

It was based on the Epiphone Genesis model from 1979-1981 but with some differences including: an extra tone control, push-pull coil taps instead of a DPDT switch and a flame maple veneer top. Pickups are Epiphone ProBucker-2 in the neck position and an Epiphone ProBucker-3 in the bridge position. |
