CSR Guitars was founded by Roger Kitchens. Roger grew up in a family of professional musicians and played the guitar since the 1970's. He began woodworking projects in 1983, making various items of furniture for clients over the years.  In 1996 he combined both his passions and made his first archtop guitar and today CSR offer three standard archtop models as well as basses.  The CSR name comes from the initials of the Kitchens family: Courtney, Sherrie and Richard and Courtney (Richard's daughter) contributes custom inlay work to the CSR instruments.
