Dan MacPherson established D.M. guitars in 1990. Dan had been working on guitars since the age of fourteen under the guidance of master Luthier Steve Smith (of Heart and Heartwood guitars and Goodfellow basses).  By 1995, well as guitar building and repair, D.M. guitars was also providing paintwork for some of the most prestigious names in the business,

In 2003 D.M. Guitars moved to a new larger workshop, and began offering supplies to other luthiers. In 2007 this lutheir supply section was spun off into a new company - Tonetech Ltd with a dedicated sales team and online store.

In 2011 - D.M. guitars launched the new "MacPherson" brand with a new range of hand made guitars.

All D.M. Guitars products are hand made with care, skill and precision. In particular D.M. Guitars paintwork is recognised throught the industry as of the highest quality and used by some of Europes finest guitar makers and and leading music shops.
