Johnny Walker became interested in guitar building while taking classical guitar lessons & decided to build his own from a mail order kit. He went to Ed Moss, a local fiddle maker and occasional guitar builder for help and advice. His first attempt (made around 1966) turned out great - so he went on to make an even better one and has never stopped since. By 2016 he had made at least 646 instruments. He continues to experiment with guitar construction, finishes, woods, glues and the effect on tone (his day job was as a research chemist) and tries to continually improve the tonal qualities of his guitars..
