Vinny Colletti started making guitars in 1998. As an avid guitar player, Colletti started out by working on my own instruments which led to work for a local shop doing setups and repairs. Afterwards, he started building electric guitars and began to frequent a local luthier’s workshop where he bought a 1936 SS Stewart archtop and took carving lessons while he made mandolins. Using instructional materials from Bob Benedetto and online courses in violin making and archtop guitar construction, Colletti eventually met Bill Moll and Bob Benedetto at the Classic American Guitar Show gaining valuable insight and receiving helpful critique. Since then Colletti has used critique from guitar players like Jimmy Bruno to help him hone his craft to make guitars that are not only beautiful but beautifully playable.
