Wide Sky acoustic and electric guitars are handmade in Taos, New Mexico by Patch Rubin. Early on in his career Rubin served an apprenticeship with Andy Brauer in LA - learning the finer points of set-up. He played numerous shows as a pro-musician with Roots Revolt and Heavyweight Dub Champion, while also working as a welder and carpenter. In 2010 he relocated to the high desert of Taos, New Mexico and found work with a custom furniture builder. With access to a fully equipped workshop, and plenty of information from books and the internet, he made his first acoustic guitar. David Lindley was passing though town and tried out this guitar before his show and gave it a great review. His second guitar won the best in show at the Taos Fall Arts Festival.
