Finished in meticulous metalflake paints the curvy solid mahogany of the DeLacugo Excelsior resembles the tailfin of a futuristic hot rod. The Floyd Rose double locking tremolo is recessed to allow for pulling up a whole step. Electronics consist of a Seymour Duncan Custom humbucker in the bridge position, a Duncan 59 in the neck and a single volume and tone control. The tone control is also a push-pull coil tap switch for the humbuckers. The three piece maple neck has a fat profile giving a vintage feel. Although its shape is unsual the Excelsior is perfectly balanced for playing sitting down and standing up.
