2004$500excellentThis is a genuine Eko Ranger 6, with a gold leaf label, made in Recanati, Italia. I estimate made in about <1968>. Bolt on neck. Rosewood fretboard. Heavily applied varnish. Rosewood back and sides, with beautiful matching flame. Large pick guard. Rosewood bridge with brass string holders. Has a quarter moon shaped enclosed nickel pickup attached to the sound hole near the end of the fretboard. With a volume and a tone knob down towards the the right lower bout. Input plug on the outside of the lwr, right bout. This is obviously a factory made and built in pickup set and is genuine Eko. It also works beautifully plugged into an amp. This guitar is a "Dreadnaught," shape, it is large but not heavy. The body is bound on the edges. Fretboard not bound. In my opinion it has hardly been played at all and never interfered with or had any work done to it. Only strings have been changed. The guitar was obviously built to be used with an amplifier. It is not overly loud unplugged - I think the heavy varnish layer restricts the vibration of the plates. This is a strongly built instrument. It does have a lot of character and the neck is easy to play and fast. Mr. James (Jimi,) Page of the "Yardbirds," played a very similar Eko Ranger 6 in the late 1960s - there are photographs of him doing so. It is possible this guitar might be a studio or concert instrument.
