As the lead guitarist for Metallica, Kirk Hammett has inspired generations of musicians over the past 40+ years, and the ESP LTD KH-V continues his legacy as the latest addition to the Kirk Hammett Signature Series. The KH-V offers neck-thru-body construction, with an extra-thin U-shaped three-piece maple neck and korina body at 25.5 scale. Its Macassar ebony fingerboard features pearloid wave inlays and 24 extra-jumbo frets.

ESP manufactured the Kirk Hammett KH-2 (Custom M-II with Ouija Graphic) between 1996 and 1999

Kirk Hammett’s first ESP was ordered from the Custom Shop in 1987, later to become known as the KH-2 and one of ESP’s early Signature Series instruments. It was Kirk’s main touring guitar for many years. Introduced in 2001,the ESP KH-2 Vintage is a precise reproduction of that first KH-2, with the finish wear and stickers accumulated during many years of touring painstakingly reproduced.

The ESP MARCELO DIAS signature model bass was made between 2002 and 2003. The Marcelo Dias model had neck-through-body construction with a 35 inches scale length. The body was alder and the neck was three piece maple and ebony with an ebony fingerboard. Fingerboard inlays are symbols that look like Roman numeral II. The pickups were a Seymour Duncan Basslines SMB-4D set, controlled by a volume, balance and Seymour Duncan STC-3M3 active WQ with slap controls. Hardware was black, including a Gotoh Deluze bass bridge. Frets were 22 XJ size.

The ESP Max Cavalera signature model was introduced in 2001. The ESP Max Cavalera is based on the offset SG ESP Viper body shape. Finish was Brazilian Green with a custom Brazilian flag graphic and painted humbucker pickup. The ESP Max Cavalera had an alder body with neck-through maple neck and ebony fingerboard. Fingerboard inlays were Soul-Fly logos up to the 9th fret and XXX's from the 12th fret upwards. This model had a single Seymour Duncan SH-6 (Distortion) humbucker in the bridge position controlled by a single volume knob.

The ESP Max Cavalera AX model was introduced in 2007, replacing Cavalera's green Viper signature model. The ESP Max Cavalera AX had an X-shaped pointy alder body with neck-through maple neck and ebony fingerboard. The single humbucker was a Seymour Duncan SH-6 Distortion - like on Cavalera's Brazilian flag Viper model. Finish was white until 2009 and then it was changed to Urban Camo finish.

The LTD version of this model was the LTD MAX-600.

The ESP Max Cavalera EX model was introduced in 2011. The ESP Max Cavalera EX has a pointy Explorer shaped alder body with neck-through maple neck and ebony fingerboard. The single humbucker was a Seymour Duncan SH-6 Distortion. Finish is Urban Camo.

The LTD version of this model was the LTD MAX-200

The ESP Max Cavalera RPR model was introduced in 2016. The ESP Max Cavalera RPR has a bevel edged body shape that combines Cavalera's previous two signature models (the X-Shaped AX and the Explorer shaped EX). The body is alder with neck-through maple neck and ebony fingerboard. The single humbucker is a Seymour Duncan SH-6 Distortion. Finish is satin Black Desert Camo.

The LTD version of this model is the LTD MAX-200-RPR

When you think of ESP signature guitars, black super strats or heavy rock guitars come to mind. On the face of it the ESP Ron Wood is one of their more unlikely signature models, but Ronnie Wood is in fact one of their longest running endorsers with a signature model since 1985. The Japanese made ESP Ron Wood is a tasteful Telecaster style model with a bridge humbucker. There is also a more affordable LTD brand Ron Wood model.

The ESP Skull and Bones was a limited production George Lynch signature model, available in 1999 only. This model was based on George Lynch's own custom instrument (which had a body hand carved by Johnny "J. Frog" Garcia). The ESP Skull and Bones also had a hand carved skull & bones maple body, bolt-on maple neck with ebony fretboard, Floyd Rose locking vibrato and Seymour Duncan Screamin Demon humbucker.

ESP introduced the Sunburst Tiger model in 1990 as one of their George Lynch signature models. This ESP super strat is immediately recognisable by the tiger stripe  graphics on the body and the reverse hockey stick peghead. The ESP M-1 tiger also has tiger stripe graphics but no sunburst and the M-1 has a conventional headstock and single pickup. The sunburst is either red to yellow or purple to yellow.

Production of the Ultra Tone began in 1995 and ended in 2000
