Introduced in 1989, the Fender Deluxe Strat Plus was similar to the Strat Plus, but had different pickups. The Deluxe Strat Plus usually came with Blue, Silver or Red Lace pickups whereas the Strat Plus had Gold Lace pickups. Also many Deluxe Strat Plus guitars came with ash tops and backs on an alder body. Some of these Deluxe Plus models came with the Fender American Standard two-point floating bridge while others came with the Fender American "Floyd Rose" Deluxe Locking bridge.

This is the USA made Strat Plus model with serial numbers 010 to 7502.

The Strat Ultra had an alder body with flamed maple veneer top and back. The early versions had an American Deluxe 2-point bridge but later models had either the Deluxe pop-in bridge or a Fender Deluxe locking tremolo. The fingerboard was ebony with abalone dot position markers (although some early models had regular white dots). The Strat Ultra had Schaller staggered locking machine heads.
