Actually the SBF 24 was made from 1989, and probably in Japan, alongside other well know brands like Epiphone, and Ibanez.
I have one, black in Les Paul livery, with a production year of 1989. (serial number starting with 89).
The SBF 24 has a brilliant full, yet mellow sound. Perfect for jazz like Joe Pass, and accompanying vocalists. Jumbo frets make this a delight to play. It's manufacturer has not yet been identified, as the history of Washburn is a little patchy during the late 80's, which makes it all more alluring. It's a mystery!
